A whole weekend dedicated to the shucking and slurping of the prolific oyster.
For over 20 years dating back to 1997, the oyster fest was a tradition in Tofino, and now it has returned!
This event is a great time for Tofitians and visitors of Tofino to step out of their shell and have some fun at evening galas and parties, while tasting delicious seafood harvested from the local Clayoquot Sound.
The third week of November is the beginning of the oyster harvest in this area, and it is said to be that's when the oysters are the plumpest.
In the daytime, festival-goers are invited to tours of the oyster harvest areas, and can visit the many local food venues.
We've got a great story, which shares interesting info about the thriving oyster harvest area and more about the event. Click here to read it.
