Sip & Savour was a hit again this February, with a vast selection of BC wines, ciders and beers to sample.

What's on at Vernon Winter Carnival

What's on? 100+ events across 12 days of good times; and given this being the event’s 63rd year, they might know what they are doing here.

Here is the schedule for what’s on for this week, through Feb 12.

From parades to cooking classes, to full on music events with soon to be 2,500 of your newest closest friends, the Winter Carnival is massive, and it's because this is Vernon; a city full of winter enthusiasts who are stoked to see visitors and are even more stoked to show you what happens when 400 of their neighbors volunteer to put on this winter epic.

The scene at SilverStar, only 20 mins from downtown Vernon, is—as usual—in full on snow globe form.

Polson Park Balloon Glow sure gives visitors a lift during the annual winter mix-up. Okanagan Ballooning delivered with a display that was pretty cool.

Over the 1.5 hour event, the balloons are kept inflated and aloft (but grounded) to allow the public to get right up and close to the blower.

The Balloon Glow is one of the carnival's most eye-catching events.

Sip & Savour rocked the festival scene last weekend! It's nice to get in a room with new friends, where a DJ is making the room bounce, while the live music and local libations are making the floor wiggle. This annual takeover of the Prestige Vernon Lodge means you spend the night working the room full of BC ciders, beers and local wines.

Make up for what you might have missed this past weekend, be in Vernon this Friday Feb 10 with the Snow Globe concert featuring headliners the Recklaws, in what’s quickly growing into of Vernon’s biggest shows of the past four years.

What is so sweet about the Vernon Winter Carnival scene, is that events are taking place all over the city, up at the Sovereign Lake Nordic Centre and at SilverStar.

With over 25cms of white gold that’s fallen this past week at the Star, conditions are in stellar form.
