The annual Cowichan Valley Bluesgrass festival, formerly the Sooke Bluegrass Festival, celebrates Father’s Day with a foot-stomping weekend combining everything blue. Bluegrass, blue skies and blue water.
The weekend kicks off on Friday night and by the time things wrap up on Sunday afternoon you’ll have had a chance to enjoy some pretty sweet bluegrass on stage, in workshops and in jam sessions that pop up in the craziest places.

Bring a swim suit and take a swim at Cowichan lake located right near the festival grounds of Laketown Ranch Music Park. The massive lake is about 30 kilometres wide, so you will be able to find a nice quiet beach when you are done at the festival.
But don’t forget what you came for. The Cowichan Valley Bluegrass festival has a lineup of artists you won’t want to miss. Take a look at some of the headliners coming from far and wide to bring music to the Cowichan Valley just an hour and a half north of Victoria.
