naaʔuu means “feast” in Tla-o-qui-aht, and this new event series invites guests to partake in a feast for all the senses.

Storytelling, song and dance, art and food from Tla-o-qui-aht culture will transform your understanding of what it means to be connected to the west coast of Vancouver Island.

Tin Wis Resort, located on Tin Wis Beach (Mackenzie Beach) about five minutes from downtown Tofino, BC.

naaʔuu provides that “bridge” between both worlds, leaving guests transformed from the cultural perspective gained from the event.

The evening menu includes: 

Breads: Fry bread, Bannock with berry preserves 
Salmon BBQ with cedar plank 
Halibut baked with seasoning 
Roasted potato with herbs 
Seasonal vegetables, roasted 
Gathered greens (foraged greens and vegetables) 
Mussels and/or clams, steamed with buttery garlic 
Steamed crabs with lemon and butter garlic dip 
Venison Stew with harvest roots 
Herring roe, steamed and accompanied with dipping sauces 
Nettle tea
